Leonardo 4 Teachers 2026 Awards:
Teachers and experts in education of primary/secondary schools
The Award invites participants to develop and apply a teaching method for children aged 6-12 or teenagers aged 13-18 integrating art & science, to address one or more of the topics “Climate”, “Equality”, “Peace”, addressing the problem and possibly proposing a solution.
The teaching model should include the use of multi-disciplinary skills – creativity, thinking, analysis, intuition, sensibility – to create an original work. Class work and teamwork are encouraged.
Timetable
- Open from 15 September 2025 until 30 April 2026
- Announcement of winners: 1 June 2026
- Workshop, Concert & Award ceremony: 9 October 2026 in Brussels
The work submitted for the Award shall:
- develop competences (knowledge, skills and attitudes) in children or teenagers, based on the “Leonardo 4 Children Academy” model; for this purpose, participants are invited to follow the guidelines and take inspiration from the “Leonardo 4 Children Academy Model”
- integrate art & science and develop the artistic and scientific skills of the target students: children aged 6-12 or teenagers aged 13-18;
- cover one or more of the three topics: “Climate”, “Equality”, “Peace” addressing the problem and possibly proposing a creative solution.

Prizes
The announcement of the winner and Special Awards will be made by 1 June 2026, and the award ceremony will take place on 9 October 2026.
The winner nr. 1 will be invited to Brussels to present their work and participate in the Leonardo 4 Children workshop and Award Ceremony in October, with up to €400 paid by the foundation to cover travel expenses.
Leonardo 4 Teachers Recognition Levels
To promote the journey towards a continuous improvement of the the ability and the commitment of teachers, the “Leonardo 4 Teachers” Awards include recognition levels as follows:
Level 1 – The teacher/expert attended a 2h webinar on the Leonardo 4 Children Awards and read the Leonardo 4 Children Academy model;
Level 2 – The teacher/expert has taken part in the annual Awards and submitted an eligible work to the Awards either to the Leonardo 4 Children category (by children or teenagers) and/or to the Leonardo 4 Teachers category;
Level 3 – Winner of the Leonardo 4 Teachers Awards, or teacher of students who won the “Leonardo 4 Children” Awards; teachers achieving Level 3 will be recognised as official Leonardo 4 Children Ambassadors and will be invited to be part of the juries, and participate in or co-create further projects and initiatives of Leonardo 4 Children.
Teachers achieving these levels will receive corresponding certificates of recognition, which may be used for their professional CV.
Special Awards
Special Award for the best work involving children in need such as:
- children with neurodivergent syndromes (autism, ADHD, dyslexia, etc), whether
diagnosed or not; - children with learning difficulties;
- children with difficult socio-economic conditions;
- children with physical or psychological disabilities.
