Leonardo 4 Children Model
The “Leonardo 4 Children Academy” model, developed with EU Erasmus+ support, is an innovative educational approach aimed at promoting artistic and scientific skills in children and young people to prepare them as responsible leaders addressing global issues like climate change and equality. This model encourages teachers to enhance students’ skills in STEM and STEAM education, fostering teamwork, proactivity, and sensitivity towards these critical topics. Building on the non-profit initiative “Leonardo 4 Children,” the project aims to promote international policies and EU values such as human rights, sustainability, and equality. It targets teachers and educators to benefit children aged 6-18, fostering competences in knowledge, skills, and attitudes related to climate change and equality.
The model aims to improve understanding of these issues, developing emotional intelligence, communication, and teamwork skills while fostering attitudes of respect for nature, human dignity, and civic responsibility. It addresses various aspects of climate change, highlighting the impact of human activities and the urgent need for action, and inspires students to interpret and address equality issues at individual, social, and national levels. The pursuit of social equality involves providing fair opportunities for all, ensuring equal access to resources, and minimizing social and economic inequalities. Promoting awareness and fair treatment regardless of personal characteristics is fundamental, aiming to create a more inclusive and just society.
